Our Team
Naomi Tapia, MS / Founder and Host
Naomi is a distinguished professional with a wealth of expertise in clinical research. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology/Cognitive Science from UC Irvine and a Master’s degree in Clinical Research from The George Washington University. With over a decade of hands-on experience in site management, monitoring, and study management, Naomi has a profound understanding of the field that makes her an indispensable asset within the industry.
Driven by her desire to guide individuals entering the professional world post-college, Naomi founded TrialTalks Inc., a platform aimed at helping professionals navigate and excel in the clinical research industry. This initiative includes the TrialTalks Inc. Podcast, which caters to individuals interested in high-level topics and discussions on industry trends and therapeutic insights, alongside essential career advice. Additionally, through TrialTalks Inc., Naomi provides career coaching services, including CV reviews, interview preparation, and job searches, reflecting her commitment to mentoring and supporting emerging professionals.
In her commitment to advancing healthcare through clinical research, Naomi has demonstrated exemplary leadership in developing training materials, onboarding new staff, and creating comprehensive employee handbooks. Her efforts have facilitated seamless integration and fostered professional growth opportunities for her peers and colleagues.
Amidst her professional endeavors, Naomi finds immense joy in her role as a dedicated mother to her two young children and deeply values the steadfast support of her husband, Erick, as she gracefully navigates the demands of both her professional and personal life.
Rahmeka Fort, MPH / Co-Host
Rahmeka (Cox) Fort is a public health practitioner with ten years of clinical research experience as an undergraduate and in the field. She brings expertise as a visionary, an advocate, and an epidemiologist to enrich the platform’s impact. Rahmeka graduated from East Carolina University, where she received dual degrees in Biology and Hispanic Studies. She also attended New York University’s Global Public Health program and completed a Master’s in Public Health, with a concentration in Epidemiology in 2018.
Through working in both academia and industry at the site and sponsor level, Rahmeka has gained a variety of experience in many therapeutic areas. While her affinity is for Chronic Kidney Disease, her research experience ranges from CKD to Hemodialysis, Anemia, Gout, Hyperphosphatemia, Hyperkalemia, Cardiology, Neuromodulation, and Infectious diseases (including COVID-19). Rahmeka is an efficient, effective and transparent communicator who has the ability to problem solve, work well with teams, and foster meaningful relationships.
Rahmeka has spearheaded contingency plans during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic that were distributed company-wide in corporate settings. She has curated, implemented and developed training materials that were utilized to train new site staff on SOPs, clinical protocols, Corrective and Preventive Action plans, and local, state and federal regulations. Rahmeka is committed to fostering diversity and inclusion in clinical research through the implementation of TrialTalks and its initiatives.
Rahmeka has spoken at the United Nations as an ambassador with Drug Free World to advocate against drug abuse and illicit trafficking. She has also served on presidential campaigns at the grassroots level. Rahmeka has been affiliated with the National Kidney Foundation’s Kidney Advocacy Committee, the American Association of Kidney Patients, the National Action Network, the United Federation of Teachers, the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP), and the Disabled American Veterans. Aside from research, storytelling, and advocacy works, Rahmeka enjoys writing, motivational speaking, traveling, cooking, singing, and spending quality time with family.
